AI READINESS AUDIT - FITNESS FOR VISIBILITY

Insurance Pools.

Alliant

People now ask AI about a pool and its members before they ask them, and AI answers from what each has published. This benchmark shows how the 25 members are understood by AI today, and where the gap between what each member knows of itself and what AI sees leaves its board exposed.

25 sites around a ring, each a spoke. The further a dot sits from the centre, the higher its AI readiness, from 20 to 100 percent. The pool, as AI sees it.

How AI reads a pool’s members shapes how each is understood. For the pool and its members, knowing where the membership stands, and where each member sits within it, is the understanding that decisions on AI are built on.

Understanding is what makes the advantage of AI real.

The results show where the pool’s members stand on the AI Readiness Maturity Scale™, and the gap between what members understand of themselves and what AI sees of them, where they are in terms of fitness for AI Visibility.

Each member can see its own result, privately, through the pool or by
requesting a private briefing. Individual member results are not shared publicly.

01The 25 members.

The list is the population assessed: 25 members of a public entity pool, 13 municipalities, 5 school districts, 5 colleges and 2 charter schools, verified against their published records on 01 OCT '26.

02Who leads.

The members placed in MONITOR, the top stage of the AI Readiness Maturity Scale™, are named here when the first results are published. They are the only members named with a result on this page. Each carries a link to its own results page: its position on the Scale, its Digital Doorway reading, and the public record it was assessed against.

All other members appear in the list above without a result. Their position is available to them, and to the pool, privately, through the private briefing.

03Why AI readiness matters to a pool.

A pool’s members publish more than most organisations of their size: council and board minutes, budgets, public notices, policies, enrolment and admissions pages, safeguarding and student data notices, procurement documents and emergency guidance. AI systems now read that material and answer on each member’s behalf, to residents, families, the press and regulators, without asking whether a document is current.

When that answer is wrong, the consequence lands on the member and, through the cover it holds, on the pool. A superseded policy served as current, an outdated deadline, a withdrawn notice repeated as fact: each can become a complaint, a dispute or a claim, and each starts with material the member published itself.

Until that exposure is measured, the pool carries a misinformation and misrepresentation risk it cannot quantify, price or govern. AI readiness is the measure that brings it into view: member by member, on the same measure, run the same way, from the outside in.

04What the results mean for members.

A member in the lower stages is one AI struggles to read: information it cannot reach, cannot interpret, or finds in more than 1 version. AI then answers with confidence using material that is out of date or wrong, or answers from what others have published about the member. Neither is visible from inside the member, and both compound as more of the public’s questions begin with an AI answer.

A member in the upper stages is read accurately and consistently. Its published position is the position AI repeats, which is the position its officials, and the pool, can defend.

79% of misinformation or misrepresentation has the organisation’s own online position as its root cause. AAAnow Research, Dec. 2023 to Jan. 2026; P&C (human misinformation) 2014 to 2023.

05Risk control, and the questions for the board.

For a pool this is risk control applied to a new exposure, and it rests on 2 questions for each member. Is the member fit for AI visibility, and what does that mean for it? Are its elected officials, trustees and officers becoming increasingly, and unnecessarily, exposed as AI grows?

Automation reads each member’s estate as AI reads it, continuously: where the member stands on the AI Readiness Maturity Scale™, where misinformation is likely to arise, and which published material is causing it. That points remediation at the cause. It also produces a record of what was found, what was changed and what AI reads now: evidence, for the pool and for its carriers and reinsurers, that reasonable steps are being taken.

06The first audit for the pool.

This benchmark reads a sample. The next step is the full membership: an AI misinformation risk assessment establishing where each member stands on AI readiness and its likely exposure to misinformation, giving the pool’s leadership a measured, member-by-member baseline from which risk-control priorities can be set.

Why the pool needs it

AI systems already read and interpret each member’s online position and answer on its behalf, accurately or not. Until that exposure is measured, it cannot be quantified, priced or governed.

Why now

AI answers are fast becoming the first way the public, the press and regulators read your members. Each month without a baseline is another month of decisions made on an unknown position, while the exposure compounds.

Understand the risk

The first stage of a risk-control programme: each member’s AI readiness and likely exposure, established and kept current by ongoing monitoring.

Make members aware

Findings shared so each member knows where it stands, and what is driving its exposure.

Mitigate the exposure

Risk-control priorities put in place, with progress measured against the baseline.

Next

Understand the pool’s exposure, member by member.

The private briefing sets out the assessment for the pool’s leadership: what it measures, what it gives the members, and how the baseline is kept current.

07The readings.

The pool’s results are published on this page. The AI Readiness position is the headline; Digital Doorway explains it.

AI Readiness

How prepared the member’s published information is for AI: Foundations, Governance and Visibility, combined into 1 position and expressed on the AI Readiness Maturity Scale™, as ACT, OPTIMISE or MONITOR.

Digital Doorway

Whether the relevant AI routes can reach the member’s important information at all.
