AI Readiness Maturity Scale™

The AI Readiness position,
in context.

The AI Readiness Maturity Scale™ expresses the underlying readiness result within a benchmarkable maturity framework. It provides leaders with a defined position they can understand, compare and track over time.

01A result establishes the position; context explains it.

AI Readiness establishes the organisation’s underlying readiness position. The maturity framework answers the next question: where does that position stand, and how can its movement be understood over time?

AAAnow keeps the reported maturity position connected to the evidence behind it. The Scale adds meaning and benchmark context without turning the result into an unrelated score.

This is what makes the position useful beyond the initial assessment. Leaders can see where the organisation stands, compare the result and track the same position as it changes.

02From AI Readiness to a maturity position.

Foundations, Governance and Visibility remain part of the AI Readiness capability. Their combined result establishes one underlying organisational position, which then feeds the AI Readiness Maturity Scale™.

AI Readiness

Establishes the underlying readiness position.

AI Readiness Maturity Scale™

Expresses that position within a benchmarkable maturity framework.

The Scale does not replace the readiness assessment or divide its three modules into separate maturity products. It reports the resulting position with the context needed to understand what that position means.

EXAMPLE - SECTOR RESULTS

03Three ways the maturity context becomes useful.

Understanding, comparison and tracking are different uses of the same readiness position. The Scale preserves that common reference instead of creating a new result for each reporting purpose.

Understand

Meaning and benchmark context for where the organisation stands.

Compare

A benchmarkable maturity position through which the result can be compared.

Track

A basis for following movement in that position over time.

Movement belongs to maturity reporting rather than Landscape Discovery. It describes change in the readiness position while remaining connected to the AI Readiness result that produced it.

04Related work answers different organisational questions.

Landscape Discovery, AI Readiness, the Maturity Scale and Digital Landscape Benchmarking remain connected without becoming interchangeable. Each carries a separate responsibility within the wider organisational position.

Landscape Discovery

What exists across the wider organisational landscape?

AI Readiness

How prepared is the organisational information environment for AI?

AI Readiness Maturity Scale™

Where does the resulting readiness position stand within a benchmarkable maturity framework?

Digital Landscape Benchmarking

How do relevant Platform measures apply across the wider organisational landscape over time?

Digital Landscape Benchmarking applies relevant Platform measures across the wider landscape over time. The Maturity Scale keeps its narrower responsibility for expressing the underlying AI Readiness position.

The distinction protects the meaning of the result. Landscape Discovery does not produce a maturity score, and wider landscape benchmarking does not replace the readiness evidence feeding the Scale.

05The Maturity Scale within CCDM.

Continuous Content Discovery and Mapping, or CCDM, is the overall AAAnow Platform. The AI Readiness Maturity Scale™ provides the maturity and benchmark context for the readiness position established within that Platform.

AI Misinformation Exposure identifies organisational information more likely to be missed, misunderstood or inaccurately interpreted. The Scale remains focused on the AI Readiness maturity position.

06AI Readiness and AI misinformation are not the same thing.

The question put to AAAnow

Are AI readiness and AI misinformation the same thing? Would you call them the same thing? How do you feel about this?

They are not the same thing, and I would not call them the same thing.

AI misinformation is one exposure within AI Readiness. It is the risk that AI reads outdated or contradictory material and presents it with confidence, as current. That can damage credibility, relationships and commercial position.

AI Readiness is the wider discipline. It covers three stages: foundations (the condition and structure of what AI reads), position (what the organisation wants AI to say), and monitoring (who is talking and who is looking). Misinformation sits in the foundations, the first 30 days of work, but readiness runs continuously and addresses brand visibility, cyber exposure and cost as well.

Think of it this way: misinformation is the presenting symptom. AI Readiness is the treatment that fixes the root cause and prevents recurrence.

How do I feel about it? I feel strongly that clarity matters here. Confusing the two would let an organisation treat a symptom and believe the job is done, when the underlying structure still carries risk. That is not acceptable.

07Commonly asked questions.

Where does our organisation stand on AI Discovery

That is what the Scale tells you: your AI Readiness result expressed as a maturity position, with the benchmark context to make sense of it. The position is never separated from the evidence underneath it.

What does the Scale actually express?

It places your AI Readiness result inside a maturity framework you can benchmark against. That adds meaning to the result; it is not a second, unrelated score.

What evidence sits behind the maturity position?

Your AI Readiness position. Foundations, Governance and Visibility contribute to that single result within AI Readiness rather than arriving as 3 separate maturity products, and their evidence stays part of one position when it enters the framework.

Why does a readiness result need benchmark context?

Because a result on its own does not tell you whether it is good. Context tells you where you stand, and it is what lets you compare the position and track it as it moves.

How do we compare or track our position?

Through the same framework. It provides a common context for comparing your position and following its movement over time, both tied to the same underlying result.

What does movement on the Scale mean?

Your AI Readiness maturity has changed. That change stays tied to the underlying readiness result, so it never becomes a number floating free of the assessment behind it.

How does the Scale relate to the 3 AI Readiness modules?

Foundations, Governance and Visibility establish the underlying readiness position together, and the Scale expresses their combined result. It does not turn them into separate products or separate maturity scores, and their detailed roles stay on the AI Readiness page.

How is this different from Landscape Discovery?

Landscape Discovery establishes what exists across your wider landscape. The Scale adds maturity meaning and benchmark context to your AI Readiness position. Different jobs.

How is it different from Digital Landscape Benchmarking?

The Scale places your AI Readiness position within a benchmarkable maturity framework. Digital Landscape Benchmarking applies relevant Platform measures across your wider landscape over time. The 2 are connected without being the same service.

Why does the Scale have a page of its own?

Because what it provides is separate from the assessment that feeds it. AI Readiness establishes the underlying position; the Scale tells you where that position stands and provides what you need to compare and track it.

One position that can be understood over time

AI Readiness establishes the underlying position; the Maturity Scale makes that position understandable and trackable.

Leaders retain one connected view of where the organisation stands and how that position changes over time.
