The one-off audit

See what AI reads about you. In detail.

Before you invest in anything wider, the one-off audit shows you the foundations: what AI can find and read about you, how it reads it, and where it could misrepresent the organisation. It is the first, honest look at your own position.

AI is already forming a view of you and repeating what it finds, and that picture is shaping what customers, regulators and your own people are told. The audit puts it in front of you first.

Why a one-off audit

AI is already forming a view of you. See it before it costs you.

AI now reads your organisation the way a customer, a regulator or a journalist would, and from what it reads it forms a view. Most of what shapes that view sits beyond the pages you manage, and few leadership teams have ever seen what it adds up to.

01 · What shapes the view

of brand mentions in AI search come from third-party content, not your own domain.

That is brand information outside your control. The audit is about understanding what AI sees, so you can start to take control of your position.

So the picture AI holds of you is assembled, in large part, from material you neither own nor maintain. That would matter less if the picture were dependable. It is not, and when it goes wrong the cause is rarely a third party.

02 · Why it goes wrong

of misinformation or misrepresentation has the organisation's own online position as its root cause.

In controlling the information, accuracy is key: the picture starts with your own content.

Both findings point the same way. The view begins with your own material, and it is already in circulation. The one-off audit is where you see it, in evidence, before you decide what to do next.

What you get

An example of what lands on your desk.

The audit is delivered as a clear, evidenced read of your own position: what AI takes from your material, where it could misrepresent you, and how that measures against the AI Readiness maturity model. The examples below stand in for the real deliverable.

The benchmark

Assessed against the AI Readiness maturity model.

The audit does not hand back an opinion. It is assessed against the AI Readiness maturity model, which benchmarks the foundations first: it shows where the organisation stands on AI readiness, and what to address before anything is built on top, so the result is a position leadership can hold and act on.

Questions

Before you commission the audit.

The practical questions, answered plainly.

How is the one-off audit different from the annual service?

It is a single, dated assessment: the estate you name, graded once, reported once. The annual service keeps the position current as AI systems, and the estate, change. Most organisations use the one-off audit to establish the baseline and decide what the position is worth maintaining.

What do we have to provide?

A list of the web addresses you consider yours. Nothing more: no access, no tags, no installation. The gap between the list you provide and what assessment finds is itself part of the finding.

How quickly does it report?

The graded report lands within 30 days of the address list being agreed, with the reading of each site as AI encounters it.

Does an audit commit us to anything?

No. It is a bounded piece of work with a defined output. Where the finding warrants action, the routes are the same as for any organisation: remediation on the estate you keep, removal of the routes that no longer earn their place.
