AI Readiness · The introduction

What AI sees, not what the organisation says.

AI is now a reader of what an organisation publishes. It sits alongside customers, partners, and regulators, and it assembles a picture of the organisation from the material it can find online: the picture the market acts on.

That material is not only the content the organisation considers current. It is the full footprint of information ever made available: years of published material, third-party references, archived assets, legacy domains, and the documents spread across the wider digital estate. Much of it is forgotten. All of it is being read.

Monochrome watercolour and technical-line illustration showing an abstract human profile on the right, facing left into a fragmented digital landscape. The landscape contains numerous faint web-page and PDF-like forms, scattered nodes, partial grids, broken pathways and semi-connected clusters, representing an organisation's known, unknown, managed and unmanaged digital content. Darker and lighter areas suggest differing levels of structure, control and machine readability. The image illustrates AI readiness beginning with discovery and mapping of the complete digital estate so AI systems can find, index and interpret organisational information accurately.

Chapter 01 · The position

Unknown to you. Read by AI.

The reading is already happening. 3 measures set out where organisations stand, and the market figures beneath them show the scale of what now acts on that position.

72% of S&P 500 companies disclose AI as a material risk in their 10-K filings.

Reported analysis of 2025 S&P 500 10-K filings. Fortune, October 2025.

85% of brand mentions in AI search results come from third-party pages, not the brand's own domain.

Chapter 02 · The Triad of Exposure

1 unmanaged estate. 3 connected consequences.

The consequences of an unmanaged estate do not arrive singly. 3 exposures follow from the same root, and the insurance market is where they become financially visible.

Exposure 01

Misrepresentation and misinformation

AI reads outdated material and presents it with confidence, as current. Priority can be historic, well structured detail.

Exposure 02

Future visibility and competitiveness

85% of brand mentions in AI search come from third-party content. Opportunity is now to own the conversation.

Exposure 03

The escalating cyber problem

The estate AI reads is the estate attackers probe. Direct, security vulnerabilities; indirect website take over and misinformation, malware.

Insurance is where the exposure becomes financially visible: 1 in 5 insurance industry respondents experienced loss from AI-related risks in the past year. Gallagher, 2026.

Chapter 03 · AI Readiness, the 3 stages

1 discipline, in one order.

AI Readiness runs as a continuous discipline through 3 stages, each resting on the one before. Most of the work sits in the foundations, and the order never changes. The ring on each stage shows its share of the total effort.

The foundations are the condition, structure, currency and integrity of the documents AI systems read. They carry the majority of the assessment, and they begin with understanding the landscape.

Governance overlays the organisation's own rules on the graded foundations, then reduces the likelihood of misinformation by watching, at scale, what the organisation does not want AI to say. It runs through intelligent automation rather than human spot-checking, and it does not stop.

Visibility manages what the organisation wants AI to say, and comes last, once it is promoting a representation it can defend. From the outside in, it monitors who else is talking about the organisation and who is looking, and it continuously improves AI readiness by removing the barriers to being read correctly.

AI Readiness is continuous: discovery never stops, and the position moves with the estate.

Chapter 04 · The return

1 piece of work. Value returned in 4 places.

Understanding the landscape returns value beyond misinformation risk: the same evidenced position serves the brand, the exposure, and the cost line at once.

Accurately visible

AI describes the organisation from material it stands behind.

Brand protected

The market receives a narrative the organisation recognises.

Exposure reduced

The unknown estate comes into view; the attackable surface shrinks.

Cost removed

Legacy sites and duplicated platforms fall away, with their support.

Chapter 05 · Pricing

Priced by the size of the estate.

IN|SITE. Included with Discovery: a one-off assessment of each discovery address, returning a summary of findings, not the full detail of corrections.

Billing. Annual, or 3 years paid in advance with the 4th year free.

AI discovery (option). Engages from day 35 and runs for as long as wanted, searching for what nobody remembered. Minimum service period 3 months.

Days. Support days included each year, scaled to the tier. Where a tier lists 2 scorecard levels, the higher level includes more, reflecting the larger number of sites under active review.

OVER|SITE and further services. Per-site additions, scoped separately once the landscape is understood.

AAAtraq / Sitemorse clients are offered a 25% discount.

The next step

An organisation's AI readiness is measured by what AI reads across the footprint it has built online over years, much of it forgotten, not by what it believes it presents today.

Questions

Questions organisations ask.

Short answers to the questions that usually follow this page. The briefing carries the detail.

What is AI Readiness, outside-in?

AI Readiness, viewed outside-in, is how AI systems find, read, and represent your organisation from the public information they can access: current sites, forgotten pages, PDFs, and third-party copies. It is measured by what AI can read, not by what the organisation believes it presents.

What is the unknown estate?

The part of an organisation’s digital footprint its own digital team cannot see. P&C / Sitemorse risk profiling, 2017 to 2023, covering more than 119 million websites indicates 41% of the footprint is unknown: old domains, archived campaigns, forgotten subdomains, and material hosted by third parties.

What is the Triad of Exposure?

3 connected consequences of an unmanaged digital estate: misrepresentation and misinformation in AI answers; weakened future visibility and competitiveness; and the escalating cyber problem, a surface that sits outside monitoring and patching.

What happens in the first 30 days?

The scorecard is established with limited, secure access; colleagues across the organisation add the sites they know about, an open collection that runs through the first 20 days; from day 10 each site is graded against our AI Readiness maturity model; from day 30 remediation and route removal begin, correcting what earns its place and retiring the routes that do not; from day 35, as an option, AI discovery searches for what nobody remembered. The result is an evidenced position on what exists, where exposure sits, and what merits review.

How is our AI Readiness graded?

Each site and document is graded against the AI Readiness maturity model, which benchmarks the foundations first. It shows where the organisation stands on AI readiness, and what to address before anything is built above the foundations.

How much of our time does it take?

Around 2 days of the organisation’s resource in total. The service is automated and self-service by design, and discovery then runs continuously.

Is this a remediation or clean-up project?

No. The first stage is understanding the landscape and confirming the position before any clean-up decision is made. Remediation choices come later, with evidence.

Does Discovery correct what it finds, or only report it?

Discovery reports. It returns an evidenced summary of the position through IN|SITE, so the organisation can see where AI could misrepresent it and what merits review. Correcting the baseline sits in the next stage, AI Governance, which overlays the organisation’s own rules and reduces the likelihood of misinformation continuously.

Who sees the results?

Access is limited and secure: the digital team and the executive. Colleagues who add sites use a simple, open route and do not see the results.

Why not start with AI visibility (GEO or AEO)?

Promotion built on unconfirmed foundations circulates whatever is already online, including material the organisation would not stand behind. AI Readiness runs in one order: AI Foundations, then AI Governance, then AI Visibility.

What does it cost?

2 annual subscriptions, set by the size of the estate. Discovery starts at £5,500 per year for up to 25 web addresses, rising by tier to £320,000 for up to 5,000. The full Platform, which adds AI Governance and AI Visibility, runs from £44,500 to £2,670,000 on the same tiers. AI discovery (option) is from £2,000 per month. The full table is published above. AAAtraq / Sitemorse clients are offered a 25% discount.

Can we pay monthly, or commit for longer?

Both. Monthly billing is available at 10% of the annual price, per month. A 3-year option, paid in advance, carries the 4th year free.

What does the subscription include, and what is extra?

2 subscriptions. Discovery covers the platform and the ongoing position, and includes IN|SITE, a one-off assessment of each discovery address that gives a summary of findings, not the full detail of corrections. The full Platform adds AI Governance and AI Visibility, the continuous work that corrects the baseline and manages what AI says. Extra to both are AI discovery (option), from £2,000 per month, and OVER|SITE and further services, per-site additions scoped separately once the landscape is understood.

What is the difference between the Discovery subscription and the full Platform?

Discovery is the entry subscription: it establishes the landscape and the position, and includes IN|SITE, a one-off assessment of each discovery address that returns a summary of findings, not the full detail of corrections. The full Platform is the complete discipline: AI Foundations, which includes Discovery, then AI Governance, then AI Visibility, run in that order as a continuous subscription. Both are listed in the table above.

Can we start with Discovery and move up to the full Platform later?

Yes. Discovery is the entry point, and the full Platform adds AI Governance and AI Visibility. AI Readiness runs in one order, AI Foundations first, so moving up follows the same sequence: the foundations are understood before governance is applied, and visibility comes last.

What is the AI discovery (option), and is it included?

AI discovery is an option, not part of the subscription. From day 35, and from £2,000 per month depending on tier, it keeps searching for the material nobody remembered: forgotten domains and documents still being read by AI. It runs for as long as wanted, with a minimum service period of 3 months.

Who is AAAnow?

Part of the group including Sitemorse, AAAtraq and AiCM (opens in a new window): 25 years of outside-in digital assessment, more than 119 million websites profiled, and an evidence base of 3.7 trillion data points.

Does the service need access to our systems?

No. The assessment is outside-in: it reads what AI and the market can already read. Nothing is installed, no credentials are exchanged, and the internal estate is not touched. That is also why the picture it returns is the one your organisation is judged by.

What do we get in the first 30 days?

An evidenced position: the known estate collected, each site and document graded against the AI Readiness maturity model, and the landscape in front of the board. From there, remediation and route removal begin with the foundations already benchmarked.

Is there a way to see our position before subscribing?

Yes. The one-off audit is a single, dated assessment of the estate you name: graded once, reported once, with no wider commitment. Most organisations use it to establish the baseline and decide what the position is worth maintaining.

What does the annual service cost?

Pricing is published on this page, tiered by web addresses. Each tier lists its scorecard levels, Discovery coverage and support days. Billing is annual, or 3 years paid in advance with the fourth year free. AAAtraq / Sitemorse clients are offered a 25% discount.

Is automated discovery included?

No. AI discovery (option) is exactly that: an option. It engages once the known estate is collected, searching for what nobody remembered, for as long as wanted, with a minimum service period of 3 months. The core service runs on what the organisation collects and what Discovery holds.
